Classrooms are set up around Learning Centers, focused on specific subjects. Centers encourage independent exploration and group learning. Whether children are taking their first steps or preparing for kindergarten, the school environment encourages their confidence, while our caring teachers develop bonds that make each child feel welcome, connected, and safe.

Communication Center

Language and literacy are cornerstones of early learning. This center engages children with books, conversations, and opportunities for mark-making: drawing, scribbling, and, eventually, writing. Here, children learn to express themselves and collaborate with classmates as they build essential communication skills that will benefit them in school and in the future.

This vibrant space encourages children to develop their self-expression. Age-appropriate artists and their artwork are shared though books and images to foster discussion and engagement with various art forms. A range of creative materials are at the ready so that children can work with colors, textures, and more, as they develop their unique point of view.

When children explore patterns, sequencing, organizing, and a variety of sorting materials, they are building a foundation for later, more complex, mathematical thinking. The problem-solving skills they develop by working in this center will serve them well into the future.

This learning center encourages early innovation. Children experiment with building and connecting different materials, as well as discovering multiple solutions to the challenges they set for themselves. Mindfulness and self-regulation are powerful, beneficial tools for children to develop in early childhood. This center provides a calm, soothing atmosphere where they can take a breath, reflect, and refocus. Quiet time and relaxation are important parts of a busy school day. Slowing down for even just a moment or two is a refreshing, rewarding experience.
