Get Ready with Spotlight on Kindergarten

The year before your child enters kindergarten is an exciting one! We’re eager to help ensure they’re ready for the academic milestone with our Spotlight on Kindergarten™ program. It’s designed specifically for Pre-K students to make sure they’re prepared for a successful transition.

We make learning essential school readiness skills fun with the help of our four woodland friends. Teachers use the program to guide students through essential educational concepts that set the foundation for success in kindergarten—and beyond.

In Spotlight on Kindergarten, your child will learn:

  • 1:1 correspondence, counting, and other early math concepts
  • Letter sounds
  • Handwriting and letter formation
  • Early literacy skills through problem-solving

The program gives children an opportunity to practice self-regulation and the focused attention needed to complete independent tasks, just as they’ll need for kindergarten.

Additional program elements include:

  • Structured small group instruction
  • Hands-on activities to strengthen understanding
  • Unique and engaging workbook activities
  • Personal, individualized attention and support
  • A familiar Pre-K teacher to guide growth

How long is the program?
Spotlight on Kindergarten is two standalone semesters, each lasting approximately 12 weeks. At the end of each semester, your child will bring home their Student Workbooks to share what they’ve learned.

Will it disrupt the normal routine? No!
Each week, students will participate in three small group sessions that last about 20 to 30 minutes. We’ve built the elective program to flow seamlessly with our existing daily rhythms. The weekly sessions are conducted during regular classroom Learning Center or Small Group time.

Ready to enroll?
We’re excited about what Spotlight on Kindergarten can offer your child. Please let us know if you’re interested in enrollment. Ask your school director for program details, pricing, and availability.
