At U-GRO Learning Centres, we’re committed to ensuring your child receives the best start through quality early education. We’re proud to announce that 96.8% of the 216 children who attended U-GRO during the 2016-17 school year, and are progressing to kindergarten, meet or exceed Pennsylvania State expectations for entering kindergarten. This is the highest average proficiency score at U-GRO to date!
“At U-GRO, it is our pleasure to partner with families in shaping a foundation for their child’s achievement in school and life. It is because of this partnership, and the efforts of our children, families, and teachers that we are celebrating a 96.8% Kindergarten Readiness Rate,” said Leslie Marley, Director of Education and Curriculum. “We are proud of the accomplishments and milestones our friends achieve.”
We use PA State Early Learning Standards to measure curriculum and educational programming effectiveness. Established by the PA Department of Education, kindergarten readiness is measured in the following developmental areas:
U-GRO’s preschool curriculum helps children master crucial skills in these key areas, including our Life Skills program and Blended Model® curriculum. Life Skills supports social-emotional and physical development. Children learn skills like practicing self-motivation, expressing and controlling emotions, and respecting and supporting others.
Play and learning go hand-in-hand during early education years, which is why U-GRO’s proprietary Blended Model® curriculum combines child-led discovery activities with teacher-led activities. This approach allows children to exceed developmental benchmarks needed for the classroom and life.
In addition, U-GRO educators work alongside area public school districts to create a curriculum in which students can successfully transition to kindergarten.
