Upward mobility
Look out! Your toddler is on the move. Developmental needs of one and two-year-olds differ from older children. At U-GRO Learning Centres, we keep up with your toddler’s accelerated pace. U-GRO toddler programs feature:
- A safe, warm, spacious environment where your child can “practice” increasing independence
- Encouragement of table-manners using utensils while children are served nutritious meals and snacks.
- Working on potty-training in the 2 year-old room when the parent and child are ready.
- Consistency and routine. Children feel more comfortable when they know what to expect.
- Play time to help develop social skills
- Activities for large and small motor skill development
Rich environment
U-GRO Learning Centres provide a wide range of experiences ideally suited to your toddler’s developmental needs. An environment rich in learning opportunities:
Activities designed for smaller hands and shorter attention spans:
- Music and art
- Stories and dramatic play
- Movement
- Manipulative toys and blocks
U-GRO also provides outdoor play spaces, specifically designed for a toddler’s abilities. Outdoor play gives children additional opportunities to explore their own abilities and talents.
With safety in mind, along with secured, fenced-in play-yards, all of our centres are equipped with both an access system and touch-screen sign-in system. This double-check ensures each and every child’s safety because every parent must punch-in their individualized security code before entering the school to sign-in their child.
Rich rewards
It may seem like all fun and games to your toddler, but we know better. These experiences are the building blocks for your child’s self-esteem. U-GRO provides opportunities for
- Language development
- Coordination and spatial awareness
- Cognitive exercises to increase attention span
- Socialization with peers
- Learning about self-control, rules and boundaries
Reaching milestones
What an exciting time in your toddler’s life! Toddlers continue to develop self-esteem and independence. We encourage not only potty-training but many other self-help skills. Things like helping them learn how to put on their own coats and wash their hands themselves.
- Transition from cribs to mats
- Transition from bottle to sippy-cup
- Transition from diapers to potty-training
- Manners. Even 1 year-olds learn sign language for please and thank you!
Combined with their growing cognitive skills, these accomplishments help your toddler become an independent, self-confident preschooler. You’ll receive a daily chat sheet that gives you details on how your toddler spent the day.
